Equine Therapy Scholarship Program
The Equine Therapy Scholarship program has been established to promote participation in dressage schooling shows by individuals/clients of accredited therapy programs.
What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarship will cover the entry fee of up to two (2) schooling show test rides per rider each membership year (December 1 - November 30).
Participants are exempt from being Society Members.
The Show Safety Etiquette Acknowledgement Form and Exam will need to be completed by the rider, if able, and also by the therapy Representative that will be onsite with the horse/rider team on the day of the show. This must be done each membership year.
The qualifications to receive this scholarship are as follows:
1. The individual participating in the schooling show needs to be an active client of a recognized Equine Therapy Program.
2. The individual participating in the schooling show needs to be deemed by the Equine Therapy Program administrators as having the physical and mental ability to participate in an actual dressage test ride.
3. The Equine Therapy program administrators agree in advance that the Therapy staff/volunteers will be onsite to assist the rider with every and all needs before, during and after the test ride.
To apply for the scholarship:
1. Complete the online form below. - or -
2. Mail or email a copy of a formal letter stating interest in receiving funds for a client to participate in our schooling show. Contact us for a mailing address. Email submissions to [email protected].
The letter or form must be completed or submitted to the Society prior to the Executive Board Meeting preceding the schooling show for which the funds will be used. Board Meeting dates may be found on our home page.
